Dear CWA community members:
We hope that your summer is off to an enjoyable start!
We are writing with another update from the Head of School search committee. Since our last communication, the search committee has met with our search consultant, Joan Beauregard of Educators’ Collaborative, and reviewed information gathered by Joan through on campus meetings and the online survey. Participation from CWA constituents was very good and provided thoughtful feedback on the characteristics our community is looking for in a new Head of School.
With that information in mind, the search committee finalized materials that will be provided to persons interested in the Head of School position and set out a timetable for the remainder of the summer. The next 45 days or so will be a quiet phase, as the search committee reviews information from interested individuals, checks references, and narrows down the list of applicants. This part of the search process is confidential to protect the applicants, as many will not have informed their current employer that they are interested in the Head of School position at CWA.
By the end of summer, we expect to have three finalists, each of which will separately visit CWA in September or early October to meet with different constituencies, including parents and guardians. Our plan is to have two sessions for parents and guardians to meet with each finalist and thereafter provide the search committee with comment. Your feedback on finalists is very important and we will provide you as much advance notice of the candidate sessions as possible. Once the finalists have met with the CWA community and the search committee has reviewed feedback, the search committee will make a selection recommendation to the Board of Trustees.
