Nick Zosel-Johnson has taught fourth grade at CWA for six years and is the chair of the Upper Elementary Cluster. He is the recipient of the 2015 Inspirational Faculty Award from the Parent Association. He has a particular passion for math and literacy instruction, as well as outdoor education. Nick stays connected with former students through his leadership of the eighth grade Beach Hike and sophomore Outdoor Education programs, as well as Math is Cool, and Running Club. Before joining the CWA faculty, Nick taught third grade in Chicago as part of Teach for America. He believes that independent schools play an important role in creating a more inclusive and equitable society and enjoys serving on the Diversity Committee. Raised in Eugene, Oregon, he is happy to be back in the Northwest with his wife, who teaches eighth grade at CWA. For the next two summers, he will attend the Klingenstein Private School Leadership master’s program at Columbia University.
