spacer Traditions

Whether they are family-related or school-based, kids love cool traditions and fun annual events. And so do we. Thus, an important part of the CWA higher education is a slate of long-time traditions and events, many of which involve an entire grade or even the whole school. There are so many that we can't show them all at once, but here are examples...

The Headmaster's Picnic (which, for you heavy metal fans, is rather different than the Headbanger's Ball) is a chance for CWA students in every grade level to enjoy a day of fun on campus to begin the school year (which is followed by all the other days of fun on campus that make up the rest of the school year!).

jimiBecoming History: Lower schoolers learn about history every year as they dress up like important historical figures for what we call the CWA Wax Museum. Students present two-minute speeches in front of classmates, family and members of the community. Like many actors, though, they work only when they're the center of attention. Stop to listen, and these young actors begin to play their chosen characters. Without an audience, they remain as still as statues in a wax museum. It's sort of a combination of Halloween, street theater and public television.
