Nikki Fast joins CWA for a one-year appointment in the Upper School teaching ninth grade literary genres and 10th grade analytical writing as well as 10th grade European history. “Watching students grow as individuals and becoming their own unique person is so very rewarding to me,” she says. “What I enjoy the most about being in the classroom is having fun with learning—showing kids that you can enjoy learning and enjoy different subjects.”
Nikki looks forward to interacting with students both inside and outside the classroom and contributing to the Outdoor Ed program, athletics (she’s the assistant volleyball coach and was NCAA Athlete of the Year for PLU’s rowing team her junior and senior years), trips abroad, teaching international students, and “being part of a community that strives to be like a family.”
In her free time Nikki enjoys camping with her fiancé and their large dog, Newton, as well as baking, cooking, and reading.
