MS Math
Mike Finch teaches eighth grade math.  “I hope to be remembered as a teacher who is able to help students understand how the hard work and dedication needed to succeed in the classroom and on the gridiron translates into their lives outside of Charles Wright,” says Finch.

Finch graduated from Harvard University where he played defensive back for the Crimson.  He began his teaching career at Henry Foss High School in Tacoma and joined the faculty of Charles Wright in 2007.  In addition to teaching, Finch coaches football and track and field.  He tutors Middle and Upper School students in math and considers himself a “CWA all-sport fanatic.”

“I was attracted to the strong sense of community and parental involvement at CWA,” says Finch.  “The Headmaster’s Picnic was my first indication that CWA is more than a place of academic maturity.  When I saw how students, faculty members, parents and alums joined together for an afternoon of feasting and fraternizing, it was immediately apparent to me that CWA is a community where great things happen.”

Finch and his wife live in Tacoma.  He enjoys reading, running, and serving as the neighborhood dog walker.  He is also an expert Guitar Hero III player.
