Carol Jones
2nd Grade
Carol Jones teaches second grade. “My favorite thing about Charles Wright is that everyone – teachers, kids and parents – truly cares about each other,” she says. Jones hopes that her students remember that she held them accountable, had high expectations, and was fair.
Jones’ particularly enjoys coaching students through independent research projects when they travel around the world. “The kids are extremely invested in learning,” she says.
Jones’ three children all attended Charles Wright. So did their father, two uncles, and two aunts. They also had two grandparents who taught at the school. “It’s sort of a family affair,” she says. “This place gets in your blood! My favorite CWA moment was handing diplomas to my own kids at their graduations.”
Jones graduated from the Evergreen State College. She joined the Charles Wright faculty in 1990. She has also first and second grade classes during her tenure. Jones enjoys reading, knitting, going to the beach and spending time with her husband, Casey, and family.
