Upper School Visual Arts
Brian Hutcheson teaches visual art and design in the Upper School.  “I love working with students on design projects,” says Hutcheson.  “These projects are always very relevant to the students and help them develop valuable thinking skills that will serve them well in the future no matter where they go.”

Hutcheson studied drawing and painting at Biola University in California and earned his master’s degree in teaching at the Rhode Island School of Design.  He joined the faculty of Charles Wright in 2008 where his duties include helping to run the school’s art gallery. 

Before moving to the Pacific Northwest, Hutcheson and his wife lived and taught in Bangkok, Thailand.    They particularly enjoy playing board games.
