Before you apply 

  • Charles Wright strongly encourages entry into the 9th or 10th grade for international students. Exceptions are made on occasion for well qualified students interested in other grades. Please inquire for more information.
  • We require students to have spent a minimum of one year in a school where English is the primary language of instruction. (Charles Wright Academy does not offer any ESL support, therefore strong English skills are required for international applicants.)

Applying for Admission

  1. Application & Fee: Download the Application (PDF), and mail it along with the $200 application fee to:

  1. Academic Records: Submit academic records for the last three school years. These must be mailed directly from the applicant's current school to the address above.

  2. Teacher Recommendation: Download the Teacher Recommendation Form.  The Teacher Recommendation form must be completed by the applicant's current or recent previous teachers and then mailed directly to Charles Wright at the address above.  
  3. Testing Report: If English is not your first language, arrange to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).  Please find a location and register at the TOEFL website. If you are unable to schedule the TOEFL in your country, please contact the Admission Office by phone or email to discuss appropriate options. English speaking students should take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). Please find a location and register at the ISEE website. Our school code is 481368.   
  1. Campus Visit: If possible, schedule a visit to Charles Wright. For applicants who are unable to come to campus, please contact us to arrange a telephone interview.

  2. Review this checklist to be sure you have completed all the necessary steps in the application process.

Once all the required materials have been received by the Admissions Office, the applicant will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee, and notified of a decision.

Immigration Information

If an international applicant is offered admission to Charles Wright Academy, the Admissions Office will require documentation of funds available to pay tuition and other costs.   


  1.  Official Bank Statement:  Please submit an official bank statement with an amount of more than $30,000 in US Currency, demonstrating your family's ability to pay tuition.  

  2. Copy of Passport: Please submit a photocopy of the page of the applicant’s passport that shows their photograph and the expiration date.

Once these are received, the Admissions Office will issue a form I-20 to the student. It is the student’s responsibility to then apply to a US Consular Office for an F-1 visa. The Admissions Office will provide documentation to assist in the visa application process.
