Thank you, parents, for hosting a wonderful Faculty and Staff Appreciation Luncheon this spring - the meal was over-the-top fabulous, as were the decorations and gifts. Photos are now online.
The Lower School is currently recruiting classroom parent representatives for 2012-13. This is a fun way to work with other parents and make us feel like a neighborhood school! Please contact your current parent rep for details.
Charles Wright Academy and the Children's Museum of Tacoma invite you to Play to Learn on Tuesdays in the Lower School Commons, 10:00 to 11:30. Aimed at children age 6 and younger and their adult nurturers, these drop-in opportunities are open to CWA and non-CWA families alike. Spread the word!

Volunteer, donate to or attend the Tussock Moth Day Plant Sale! Landscaping plants and vegetable starts will be available for purchase on May 18 between 7:30 and noon outside the LS Commons. Plant donations are due by May 16. Parent volunteers are welcome! Contact US Librarian Ms. Riches for more info.
The Spirit Store is open Fridays, noon to 3:30, between the Wight Gym and Middle School.
The Retirement Celebration for Phyllis Kriese is Friday, May 18, at 5 p.m. in the Tarrier Dome. RSVP for this family-friendly party by email ddoman@charleswright.org or by calling (253) 620-8306.Enjoy the cross-divisional artistic collaborations of Beginning School, Kindergarten and Grade 8. This annual art show takes place is viewable in the MS Commons on May 21, 3:15 - 3:45.
LS Science Night is Thursday, May 24, from 6:30 to 8:30. This is a family night inclusive of parents and siblings!
CWA Family Night at the Rainiers is May 25. Return your order form to the Lower School by May 2.
The LS Parent Thank-You Celebration will be part of Town Meeting on June 1. If you have chaperoned a field trip, sent in a meal, led a learning station, organized a party, recruited classroom volunteers or simply packed your child off to school for the day, we appreciate your support and encourage you to come and receive our thanks via song and tasty treats!
LS Field Day is June 5. Contact a LS Homeroom Representative if you can lend a hand.
The LS Used Uniform Sale is June 6. Please bring your gently-used (read: no tears or stains) plaids, khakis, sweatshirts and polos to the LS office. If you can help with setup or sales, please contact Ms. Schmidt at: lschmidt@charleswright.org
Parents, remember that your child should pack a lunch on June 7; due to heavy campus event demands, lunch will not be served in the cafeteria that day.
