Bill White is the Upper School Head, and Director of Athletics. He teaches honors U.S. government and political citizenship classes in the freshmen seminar series. “As a teacher, I really enjoy the students, their love of learning, their passion, and watching their exuberance for life,” says White. He particularly enjoys working with students on writing assignments and library research.
White also leads Winterim groups and has traveled to Poland with students to participate in Holocaust Remembrance Week. He hopes students remember him as someone who made a difference in their lives.
His advice to students is straightforward: “Have a dream. Pursue that dream with passion. Don’t allow anyone to tell you that you can’t do something. Be a lifelong learner. Be independent and self-reliant. Think for yourself and follow your conscience.”
White enjoys cooking, photography, and spending time with his family. During college he worked construction jobs and often handled dynamite. “I love blowing things up,” he says.
