Susanne Everill joins CWA as the Middle School librarian and works with sixth, seventh, and eighth graders on their research skills, digital citizenship, academic honesty, and reading. Immediately prior to her arrival at CWA, Susanne was a librarian at Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C.
She enjoys working in school libraries because of the flexibility to work in all aspects of librarianship across multiple subjects and disciplines. “I love getting to know kids as readers and researchers as well as connecting with kids over books and hobbies,” Susanne says. “I like teaching students research skills, too—sometimes they think librarians magically know every book or every fact, but really we just know how to find things, and students can learn those skills, too.”
Susanne grew up in Seattle and is happy to be back in the Pacific Northwest after her stint on the East Coast. Her hobbies including knitting, sewing, spinning (“yarn, not exercise”), and spending time with her cat.
