I love being able to work one-on-one with students, I love to help them ‘see the light’ when learning different concepts about Spanish.  The students are so responsive when we take the time to work with them individually.  I hope that through studying a foreign language they have learned to appreciate other cultures.  I hope they will continue to study Spanish because they had so much fun learning it here and have come to realize what an asset it is to know another language or two.

One of the greatest rewards a teacher can have is hearing how students have used what they learned in their particular class.  I know of at least 2 former students who are currently teaching Spanish or using Spanish in their classrooms. Several others have chosen to continue studying Spanish in college to use in their chosen professions. It is also heart warming to hear of students who choose to go to a Spanish speaking country on a Winterim trip or on a mission trip so they can practice what they have learned and so they can learn more.  When they return they are so excited to know they can actually communicate with people who natively speak the language.
