2017-18 School year application deadlines

  • Rolling application deadline – currently accepting applications for all grades for the 2017-18 school year.
  • Admissions decisions are available online and are delivered by mail one to two weeks after the application steps have been fully completed (see below).

2016-17 School year application deadlines

While our general application deadlines for the 2016-17 school year have passed, we continue to accept students for mid-year admission on a rolling basis to grades in which space is available.

  • Jr. K  – space is very limited; please contact us to start the admissions process right away.
  • For all other grades – space availability varies; please contact us to inquire about your desired grade level(s).
  • Admissions decisions are available online and are delivered by mail one to two weeks after the application steps have been fully completed (see below).


Once you’ve seen what learning looks like at Charles Wright, it’s time to apply! Here’s how:

  1. Complete the online application.
  • Fill out our online application via InfoSnap, available at charleswright.org/apply. The online application will provide us with your child’s information, along with:

o Permission to request school records

o Email addresses to which we can send two teacher reference forms

  • Once you have completed the application information, you will submit the appropriate application fee online by credit or debit card, or by mailing us a check. To request a fee waiver, please contact the admissions office.

o Applicants for grades Jr. K-5: $80

o Applicants for grades 6-12: $40

o International applicants: $250

  1. Register for the appropriate assessment.
  • Applicants for grades Jr. K-5 will have an assessment conducted in the Admissions Office by a test administrator. Please call us to set up your individual assessment.
  • Applicants for grades 6-12 can take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) either by paper on a Saturday group testing date, or by computer in the Admissions Office on a weekday. Please call us to set up your individual weekday assessment, or you can register for a Saturday test online.  Visit iseetest.org to view information about the ISEE as well as practice materials, or to schedule the ISEE at another testing site. Our remaining Saturday group testing dates for 2017 are March 11 and April 8. Our ISEE school code is 481368. Please be sure to add this code to your ISEE registration after you select a testing date.
  • Although we do not administer the SSAT on our campus, we will accept SSAT scores Our SSAT school code is 2304. Visit ssat.org for more information.
  1. Schedule your child’s visit.
    • Even if you’ve toured our campus already, we require an individual visit for your child to get to know Charles Wright Academy and for us to get to know your child. The structure of these visits depends on the age of your child. Please call us to schedule your appointment, which can be combined with a tour of campus and/or the admissions assessment.
      • During the school year, students will experience Charles Wright classes alongside our current students and meet our teachers and staff. Lower Schoolers will visit for a full school day from 8-3; Middle and Upper Schoolers visit for a half-day (8-11:30 in Middle School, 8-12 in the Upper School). Jr. K and Kindergarten have a group observation day.
      • During school breaks, students will have an opportunity to tour campus and to meet with a member of the admissions committee.
