Remembering Bob Minnerly
On June 1, 2010, the Charles Wright community lost a beloved former headmaster, coach and friend. Bob Minnerly's life was celebrated at a memorial service near his home in Texas in June and at an event on Charles Wright's campus in July.
In the spring of 2010, Charles Wright Academy dedicated Minnerly Field in honor of Headmaster Bob Minnerly. From 1986 to 1996, Bob was Tarrier baseball’s biggest fan. Coaching the Middle School team or parked on his golf cart down the left field line so he could simultaneously watch both the baseball and softball games, he was always here to support and encourage the players and their coaches. His enthusiasm and commitment proved as contagious as his love of baseball. Under his guidance, the Tarriers emerged as a dominant force in South Sound athletics and Charles Wright Academy grew and developed into an outstanding school at all levels.
